Adaptive technology is used to help people with disabilities have the opportunity to learn better. It is used to support learners because it gives them the chance to help them with what their disability prohibits them from being able to do. The podcast talks about how students with disabilities can use technology assistance to better accommodate with their disability and give them the opportunity to learn. I do not know of anyone that has used these technologies to help with their learning, but am sure that these technologies are successful. I feel that because I would like to teach younger students some may not understand why a certain student is using these special technologies to accommodate to their learning. I feel that would be my biggest issue, other than that I don't see a problem with it.
I may use PowerPoint to help student with remembering content by making it creative by adding images and repeating it several times to make sure they remember it. For example, when teaching a definition I can add an example and image to it. I may use PowerPoint to allow students to understand content by describing it clearly and focusing on the things they need to mainly focus on. For example, I may be teaching how to add and I can describe how 2+2=4 by having images on the screen showing how it creates 4. I may use PowerPoint to show students how to apply things by giving them a basic math problem and then having the next slide being a real world problem. This way they can apply how math can be used for real world issues. I may use PowerPoint to teach students how to analyze by giving them examples of something, allowing them to analyze and figure it out and then showing them what the answer was on the next slide. I may use PowerPoint to helps students learn how to evaluate different things by giving them examples of ways things can be evaluated and have them take notes on it to further learn about evaluating. I may have my students create their own PowerPoint's so that they get the opportunity to learn how PowerPoint works, while also incorporating the different parts in Bloom's Taxonomy.
I would use this site to stay informed about technology trends. It can give me the opportunity to help my students succeed in the best way. It mentions social media and how I can use it, along with giving me websites that may become useful in keeping me up to date.
