Some ways that I feel I will use data collection is if I ever need to take a survey of what the class may want to do with certain things and if I ever need the parents opinion on certain matters. Since I would like to teach the first grade some reason that I may survey the students is to find out what game they may want to play outside during recess. It could be kickball, free play, etc. I could also survey them on what activities they liked more than the other to better help my teaching. Some reasons I may survey parents is to hear about how they feel about my communication and if I need to increase or decrease it. Some topics that I felt interesting while looking through my classmates blogs was some of their opinions on how they would use certain tools as a teacher. The flipped classroom is a new way to help students learn. Usually classes contain lectures given by the teacher, which then results with the students taking home homework to review what they have learned. With he flipped classroom, students have homework of listening to a pre-recorded taping of the teachers lecture. Then when they arrive to class they do different assignments to help them review what they learned during the homework. I believe the flipped classroom is a very efficient way to teach, because it allows student s to gain insight of the topic at home, and then while doing the work in class they can ask the teacher any questions the y may have on the topic. While reading the podcast, I noticed that they mentioned the website OER Commons. I decided to look it up to find out more about it. It talks more about the topic of open content.
