Technology has become a big aspect in our lives. Teachers are constantly using technology. Whether its for attendance, creating a worksheet, or researching fun activities to do for a lesson. These are some of the main reasons why teachers are influenced to use technology. It also allows communicating with parents and other teachers easier. The thing that influences students to use technology in the classroom is the fact that it can help the student learn with the learning stye that fits them. All students learn in different ways. Some are auditory learners, others visual learners, and some kinesthetic learners. Technology can help them learn in whichever way works best for them.

An International Society for Technology in Education, or ISTE, develops standards for technology. One that I am familiar with is the designer standard. With this standard, educators design different things that help make learning from fun and make learning better. The reason I feel familiar to this is because I have had many teachers use this ISTE standard and it has helped me learn. One that I is not in my current skill yet is the facilitator standard. I am not very well with this standard because I've never really had to been apart of the things the standard does.

Digital natives is what the youth is being called today. It means that you were born into technology and you know how to work it from a young age. I don't disagree with the label because it is true that this generation knows how to work phones and tablets before they can even walk. Since digital natives are familiar with technology from a young age, I do notice a difference between the younger and older generation. Digital immigrants don't know how to work technology very well and tend to struggle with it. It has never had a bad impact on my learning experience but it has definitely taken up time during my classes. I feel that when my generation becomes a teacher we will do better with technology, but there may be something new at that time that we do not know how to use.
