Throughout my school experience I have used Microsoft Word in several different ways. The main reason I used this program was to write essays. Once I got into high school most teachers wanted essays to be typed or sent through the computer. Another reason I've used this program was to create a resume and to create a collage of some of my pictures. I've noticed that teachers use Microsoft Word in several ways also. A main reason they use it is to create homework, tests, or instructions for class. Both students and teachers use Microsoft Word in many ways, which is why it is important to know how it works.
When it comes to copyright materials and fair use, I have done it a couple times. Each time I've referred to someone else's work in an essay, I use citation which gives them credit for what I used. I've had several teachers that have used a PowerPoint created by another teacher, but they had permission from the creator to use their work. As a teacher I will create different things to help my students learn. I feel that if a teacher contacts me asking for a PowerPoint to present to her class, I would allow her. With my students I will express to them how important it is to use their own work because of the many bad solutions that can occur from using someone else's work.
I feel that there are several ways I, as a teacher, can try to implement good things on my students. Cyberbullying is a big issue now that technology has advanced. In order for me to try and prevent that happening in my classroom I will try to keep posters on the walls and let the students know that they could come to me with any issues. Academic honesty, I feel, is another problem. Now students can find many things on the internet that allows them to cheat or "find the easy way out." With my students I will talk to them about how it is not okay to cheat and how academic honesty is very important. The final issue I would try to implement in my class is privacy. Not everyone likes to have all the attention on them, so I will express to my students how we must respect each others privacy. This also goes with how some students like to take their peers things.
